Frequently Asked Questions!

Is it safe to provide your information on the "Commit to Join" page. Name, state, CD and e-mail address?

Yes! Outside of your e-mail address, that information is readily available to anyone who wants it. I have no intention of using your e-mail address for any purpose other than the stated purpose. I am awaiting a response from my ISP to further assure you that it is safe, and when I get it, I will post it!

Is it safe to pay by credit card - what about identity theft?

First, as you will note, nobody will be asked to pay by credit card until such a time as a minimum of 5,000,000 people commit to join!

Second, when we get close to 5,000,000 commitments, I will authorize my ISP to verify the number!

Third, when we get close to 5,000,000 commitments, it would be naive of me to think The FBI and IRS wouldn't have an eye on the situation in this heightened Homeland Security environment, not because they are sinister, but to insure that I am not!

Fourth, all assurances will be in place and posted to prevent identity theft before committed members are asked to pay by credit card!

Finally, I am not intested in being incarcerated for fraud!

Why 5,000,000 members?

5,000,000 is an important number for two reasons, one of which is that it will provide $40,000,000 for The AVA to finance its mission, which I will deal with further down the page.

The other reason I believe 5,000,000 members is an important number, is that it is my opinion that it will take that many members to provide enough positive incentive for politicians to participate, and enough negative incentive for them not to do so! That number is intuitive on my part. In fact, I believe the actual membership could be much larger than that, and I will explain why and what The AVA will do in that eventuality right after I deal with the $40,000,000, under the heading, The Perot Factor!

$40,000,000? I'd like to put $40,000,000 into perspective, before I explain why I think it is the minimum amount of money necessary to finance The AVA's mission.

In 2004, The Office of the President, one third of the Senate, and the entire House was up for election. It is my understanding that $2 billion was spent around the country in the 2004 election cycle. $40 million is 2 per cent of $2 billion!

That's $2 billion by Special Interest Groups, bloggers, 527's, the RNC, the DNC, and you name it.

What did "we" get for that money? "We" got smoke, hate, vitriol, the politics of character assassination and negative campaign advertisements, and so on! What "we" didn't get are answers and explanations, because "we" didn't come to the playing field. Furthermore, because "we" didn't come to the playing field, we did get what we asked for, which is more politics. as usual.

Why $40,000,000?

I expect to hire roughly 200 Financial Analysts (FA's) for the purpose of conducting 535 interviews each month. That is 435 U.S. Representatives and 100 U.S. Senators. FA's because they are trained in analyzing finances and financial planning. When they are not conducting these interviews, they will planning the next round of interviews by doing research, looking for WFA and other forms of fiscal and financial mismanagement! During an election cycle, which comes by every 2 years, the workload will substantilly increase!

I expect to hire roughly 100 Transcribers. Of course the transcribers will transribe the taped interviews and post them on our web site!

I expect to hire a small group of Graphic Artists, and they will be charged with producing charts and graphs, to be posted along with the transcribed interviews on our web site for the purpose of visually enhancing communication!

I expect to hire some Lawyers to keep barking dogs away!

I expect to purchase "enough" Video Conferencing Equipment (VCE) , so that it is available when and where it is needed to conduct the interviews, which is a more financially efficient way to conduct these interviews than flying interviewers all around the country.

I expect to hire Internet Specialists.

I expect to hire Security.

I expect to Lease office space sufficient to house around 350 employees, somewhere in the Midwest, probably in the Twin Cities area, because it is more affordable than space in Washington, DC, and VCE makes that possible!

I expect to pay Credit Card Transaction Fees!

And, I expect to be prepared to start interviewing 90 days after we hit the "GO" button!

The bottom line is this. I don't know how much the mission is going to cost! I know it is going to cost a lot less than politics, as usual!

The Perot Factor!

As mentioned earlier, I believe the potential AVA membership is much larger than 5,000,000.

During the summer of 1992, when Ross Perot was running for President, polls were showing him ahead of both Bush, the Elder, and Clinton, with around 44 percent in favor of Perot!

I think it is safe to infer that millions more than 5,000,000 people would like to put an end to politics, as usual!

What if 10,000,000 people commit to join? That would be wonderful, and if my cost estimates are correct, we'd extend the membership period to two years!

In any event, appropriate adjustments will be made depending upon membership levels!

More To Come!
